Coporal Robert Rubin of the 303rd Bomb Group points to a "kill" mark painted on a B-17 Flying Fortress nicknamed "Killer Kilgare". Image stamped on reverse: ‘Copyright Current Affairs Ltd.’ [stamp], ‘Passed for Publication 28 Jan 1943. [stamp] and ‘245688.’ [Censor no.] Printed caption on reverse: '"Jerry, please note". Cpl. Robert Rubin, of 1501 Undercliff Avenue, Bronx. N.Y.C. serving with the U.S.A.Air Corps, points to the sign of one "kill" by the Flying Fortress "Killer Kilgare". Under the swastika is the warning - "Jerry, if you're close enough to read this, start prayin'". Cpl Rubin was formerly a clerk at Sterling Olo. House, 18 W. 23rd Street. N.Y.C. Aged 22, he was educated at Evander Childs High School. His parents live at Undercliff Ave. Bronx, and to them he sends the message - "Ma, I miss your apples. Otherwise O.K.". ANY 41.'
