From Chicago, IL, Lt. Robert M. Borg enlisted on 14 August 1941 and assigned to the 369th Fighter Squadron in April 1943, flying eight missions before his transfer to the 370th Fighter Squadron on 14 January 1944. Lt Borg flew 81 missions with the 370th, primarily in P-47D 42-8566 and then P-51B 42-106749. He completed his combat tour of duty with the 359th Fighter Group on 28 September 1944.
