Robert Harold White

Military ROLL OF HONOUR

Robert White served as a tail gunner with the 544th Bomb Squadron of the 384th Bomb Group, flying bombing missions out of Grafton Underwood, England. On 1 August 1944, he was killed when one of the engines of B-17 42-97072 failed on take-off and the aircraft crashed at Weldon. He is buried in Winner City Cemetery, South Dakota.
