On 5/1/1945 whilst in A/C 42-50793 on take-off it crashed at Hall Farm which is just south of North Pickenham Airfield, during severe icy conditions & heavy snow. All 9 crew survived, but aircraft was destroyed. The mission was cancelled following the incident.
