Appointed 2LT, Cavalry in 1916 after graduating Cornell U. Detailed to Air Service in 1922. Following basic and advanced instruction, served as instructor at Advanced Flying School at Kelly AFB. In 1926, entered Air Corps Tactical School, followed by Command and General Staff School. Flight Instructor, Air Corps Technical School 1928-32. Completed Army War College, then Navy War College, then assignments in Hawaii and in Washington as leader of the Information Division in the office of Chief of the Air Corps. Commanding Officer, VIII Ground Air Support Command from May 1942 to 16 October 1943. Retired 30 June 1952.
