MilitaryEnlisted in Sept 1942, trained at Gunter Field, Montgomery, Keesler field, Mississippi and received further training in Illinois, North Carolina and Alabama.
Sent to Britain in Dec 1943 and was stationed in Norfolk county.
Part of the 8th Air Force and 392nd Bomb Group which flew B-24s.
Returned to US and discharged at Maxwell Field in October 1945.
Seeing the planes return rom missions in their condition. Saw one plane (B-24) crash and burn on TO. No Survivors. There were 6 of us in the instrument shop. I was there from DEC, 1943 - Jun, 1945. I returned to the US on the Queen Mary. I was veryinpressed with the English people.
