Hit by flak on a mission to Frankfurt, GR on 20 Mar 1944, B-24H #42-64447 'Commanche' exploded in the air and crashed SE of Dieppe, FR after the crew baled out. He was an Allied Air Evader and escaped over the Pyrenees with my uncle who was an SOE agent. Please contact Suzanne Siebert or Willem Mugge for further information. This Airman evader capture (he was not POW) and met up with my uncle who was a Dutch (British trained) Special Operations Executive (SOE) Agent--he along with another US Airman, 2 Belgians and my uncle Tobias Biallosterski crossed the Pyrenees into Spain and eventually Gibraltar and back to the UK.
