Wright (Bombardier, B-24) on a mission to Laon, France went down North of Ath, Belgium with the aircraft crashing at Wodecq. The Pilot waited too long to exit and his chute did not have time to open. Wright landed in a tall tree in Papignies, suffering a sprained ankle. He was met there by Mlle. Laure Remy and Mme. Marie-Louise Deltenre-Auverlaux. M. Abel Coton quickly arrived at the scene and helped him to shelter. Later he was hidden at a farm in Grand Monchaut (Ellezelles) by Antoine and Juliette Hubin-Duvivier (now Deceased).
