On 12 March 1945 P-51 44-14086 'Angel of Mercy' developed mechanical problems. Pilot Richard O'Brien crash landed a/c behind Soviet lines near Stettin, Germany. O'Brien was evacuated through ESCOM HQ at Poltava.
