Norman Edwin Strom

He was accepted into the Aviation Cadet program and trained as a pilot before being deployed to the 92nd at Podington. He flew on 35 missions in B-17s, mainly over Germany on one of which he lost three engines but managed to limp back and land at an emergency airfield after clearing the overcast at just 300 ft. He returned to the States in January 1945 to fly 'war-weary-' aircraft to airplane graveyards in the southwest before being discharged in January 1946.
