Military

First combat mission flown 16 December 1943, Bremen; 28th combat mission flown 29 April 1944, Berlin. I was pleased to participate in what was at that time a European Theater of Operations record: 56 consecutive missions against the enemy without a loss of aircraft to enemy action. This was accomplished by all the personnel of the 365th Bomb Squadron. I participated in the first successful daylight raid on Berlin 6 March 1944. Aircraft's name was 'Leap Year Lady'.
