Stoll, right waist gunner of the B-26 Marauder 42-96080 “The Flying Dutchman II”, took off from station 455 in Holmsley South, Hampshire, UK on a bombing mission over the Isle-Adam bridge. The plane was hit by flak. Half the crew was able to bail out successfully before the plane exploded at 1907. Stoll was not. | |
