Shot down a JU-88 German Bomber on February 24, 1944 while returning to base from escort mission. Crashed near E of Ulm, GR on an escort mission to Schweinfurt, GR on 24 Feb 1944 in P-51B #43-6625 due to broken rudder and engine quitting. Prisoner of War (POW).
