Technical Sergeant Max R. Willhite was born November 28, 1919. His next of kin were his parents, Ralph and Alta Wilhite. He was from Freedonia, Kansas.

On October 8, 1943, he was the Radio Operator aboard “Exterminator,” B-24 tail #42-7470, of the 392nd Bomb Group, 579th Bomb Squadron, when it went down over the North Sea.

His remains were never recovered.
