On a mission to Wilhelmshaven on 3 Feb 1944, B-17G #42-39938 collided with another aircraft over the North Sea . Killed in Action (KIA). May be the L. D. Ward listed 3 Oct 43 on return from canceled mission in B17#42-30171 'War Cry' was directed to land at RAF Docking,. Developed problems in landing. RTD. May also be the Lynn D. Wood flying again with Ben McCall whose a/c ditched in N. Sea and was rescued.
