Lucius Fisher Foster III

Military

Lucius Foster served as a fighter pilot first with the RAF, as part of No. 133 'Eagle' Squadron, and then with the 4th Fighter Group. He transferred to the 4th Air Defense Wing, re-designated the 65th Fighter Wing.

After the war, Foster worked as a real estate developer in Los Angeles, where he met then big band singer Evelyn 'Brandy' Ella Almond at a fencing match. The two married and had four children, but divorced in 1962 before the birth of their youngest, and most famous, child Alicia Christian- better known as Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster.

In 2011 Foster was sentenced to seven years in prison for fraud, he was released two years later and spent the remainder of his life impoverished and estranged from his family. He died in 2016 after suffering from a heart attack and Alzheimers.
