Prisoner of War (POW) Crashed at Kelkheim on 10/19/44 in B-24 #4295047. According to US trial paper 12-2313, he dropped into the Main river when coming down in his chute, was shot in the face but survived. The perpetrator was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment of which he served about six and a half.
