Military ROLL OF HONOURHit by fighters on a mission to Lechfield, GR on 16 Mar 1944, B-17G #42-97063 was forced to ditch in the Channel. All crew rescued and returned to base. Attacked by fighters on a mission to Brunswick, GR on 29 Mar 1944, B-17G #42-31531 exploded and crashed NE of the target after most of the crew baled out. Killed in Action (KIA).
