Leon W Tyler
MilitaryShot down 8 May 1944 in B-17 #42-39998, Prisoner of War (POW). The plane crashed landed successfully. Sent to Stalag Luft III, escaped during forced evacuation march in Jan 45 with Lt. Pete O'Shanick, B-24 Bombardier. Both got back to allied lines. Mr. Tyler lived to age 73.
Awards: POW, 2 DFC, 6 Air medals and Purple Heart
