Kenneth V Burnett
MilitaryAccording to Losses of the 8th and 9th AFs Vol. 1, Burnett took off from Speke in P38G-10-LO 42-12920 to ferry to Burtonwood . En route, visibility was so poor it is thought that Burnett mistook a canal/ river for the runway at Burtonwood. and crashed on thebanks of the River Douglas in Lancashire.
