Julius B C De Los Olivos
MilitaryJulius Del Los Olivos was born in Mexico in 1917. At the time of his enlistment into the US Armed Forces in the summer of 1942, he is listed as a kitchen worker in hotels, restaurants, railroads, steamships, etc. in New York City.
Julius trained as a radio operator and was attached to the 7th Station Complement Squadron at Ridgewell, first as part of the 381st Bomb Group, then as part of the 432nd Air Service Group (formed April 1945). It is quite likely that he worked in a ground role with the station's radar system rather than as an operator as part of an air crew.
