Assigned to the 384th Bomb Group, 545th Bomb Squadron on AAF Station 106 Special Orders #226 dated 15 November 1944, Arthur Champ Crew.



On November 30, 1944, he was serving as the Ball Turret Gunner aboard B-17 tail #44-8409 of the 384th Bomb Group, 545th Bomb Squadron, when it went down over Wintersdorf, Germany. It was his third mission. He was Killed in Action.



He is buried at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, New York.
