Killed in Action (KIA)

Germany 1 December 1943 Hit by Machine Gun and 20mm fire. Was given first aid at his position and asked to remain at the tail guns. As fellow crew members left the ditched plane, they saw him slumped on his guns. KIA. According to Dutch sources, his body was found in the aircraft when it was recovered in 1955.
