John E Ault
MilitaryJohn Ault was part of the crew of B-17G #42-31050, which crashed for unknown reasons on a mission to Frankfurt on 29 January 1944.
Ault is recorded as having been a Prisoner of War on his tombstone but is known to have escaped capture with the help of the resistance. At the end of his escape route he was hidden in the childrens' home of Kiewit/ Hasselt, named 'Home Rulot', before boarding a light aircraft at the airfield of Kiewit.
