John Dudley Masters
Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down by flak and crashed at Neu-Schulzendorf on 6/21/44. Navigator John Neel mentioned in his records that Lt Masters died in Prisoner of War (POW) camp 13 days after they crashed B-24 #42-95075.
Masters enlisted registered for the draft on 10/16/40 shortly after his family moved to Kerrville, TX. He received his commission at Marfa (Texas) Air School in November, 1943.
Following his death, he was buried in Kriegerfriedhof Elgsgrund. In 1954, his remains were returned to Kerrville. He lies next to the graves of his parents in the Glen Rest Cemetery.
