John B Hankey is the son of Bertram W Hankey born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois (WW1 Veteran 92nd Aero Squadron) and his wife Alice E Hutchins born in Clerkenwell, London, England. About 1920 the family moved to the U.S.A and settled in Illinois. About 1924 the family moved to Michigan and was living South Haven, Michigan in the 1930 US Fed Census and in Casco, Allegan, Michigan on the 1940 U.S. Fed Census.
