Jerome M Najvar
MilitaryCrashed into high ground at Mill Hill on 11 October 1944, while ferrying B-24 Liberator 42-52003 from BAD 2 at Burtonwood to Hardwick, after experiencing bad weather. Najvar managed to extract himself from the wreck of the aircraft and reached the road from Hayfield to Glossop. Najvar and Houpt were picked up by a lorry driver who took them to a local pub, where Houpt telephoned Burtonwood to report the accident and was retrieved by Ambulance.
