Holland, MI, USA | 21 September 2009 | Jay G. Kooiker, age 88, of Hamilton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 21, 2009, at Oak Crest Manor. Jay was born April 24, 1921 in Hamilton to Edward and Sadie (Koops) Kooiker. Jay attended Albers (Overisel) School and served with the U.S. Air Force in Europe during World War II. He married Jeanette Genzink in 1945. Jay farmed in Hamilton for 25 years and had been employed by the Hamilton Farm Bureau for 17 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Overisel Reformed Church, a former member of the Adult Bible Class, a member of the Greater Consistory and served as a deacon.
