Sergeant Jack B. Weaver, 384th Bomb Group
Charles D Taylor collection
"Iowans of the Mighty Eighth", Chapter 22 "Biographies", by Charles D Taylor.
He flew on 30 combat missions December 1943 - August 1944. During his second mission a crew member fell out of the bomb bay without a parachute. His 9th mission was the worst when they lost two engines and he was hit by flak but fortunately he was wearing a flak suit that day. He afterwards worked for Morrell Packing Plant for 39 years and volunteered at the local hospital.
