Militarymember fo Pipkin crew, went down 6/7 May 1944 on nightime mission over Denmark on B-24D- 42-40530. Was on SOE dropping mission to the Island of Fyn, Denmark. On return was hit by flak in bomb bay and #3 engine. All crew bailed out. Navigator killed, parachute did not open. Barron was one of 5 Prisoner of War (POW)s, and 2 evaded
