Staff Sergeant Howard M. Quigley was born January 13, 1916. His next of kin were his wife, Helen Quigley, two sons, Howard, Jr., and Eugene, one daughter, Mary Helen, and his father, Ross Quigley. He was from Kansas City, Kansas.

On May 8, 1944, he was serving as the Right Waist Gunner aboard “Gypsy Queen,” B-24 tail #42-50327, when it went down between Tuendern and Hameln, Germany.

He is buried in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
