Was part of crew of plane being ferried to BAD #1 at Burtonwood where pilot was to pick up newer plane to take back to base. ran into bad weather, field was blanketed by fog and plane hit Black Hameldon Hill. He died of injuries as well as two others, five were killed instantly and three, including the Pilot, were left with serious injuries.
