In service from Oct '42 to Sept '45. Henry S. Arnold joined the Army in the summer of 1942 and asked to serve in the Army Air Forces. After completing Aircraft Mechanics School in Gulfport, MS, he volunteered for Gunnery School and was sent to Kingman, AZ. In the fall of 1943 he began his combat tour in the 94th Bomb Group, 331st Bomb Squadron as a ball turret gunner on B-17 'Miss Donna Mae'. He completed 26 missions between November 29, 1943 and April 19, 1944. He then volunteered for Pacific combat duty and began B-29 training. In September 1945, he was discharged from military service.
Awards: DFC, AM (3OLC), EAME (2BS), WWII Victory.
