Henry J. Roeber was a Pilot in the 92nd Bomb Group / 407th Bomb Squadron. He was flying B-17 #42-3184 'Aliquippa', hit by enemy aircraft on the Osnabrück mission 22 December 1943. Managed to land his plane in the Netherlands and was captured. Prisoner of War (POW). He stayed in the Air Force after the war and served in Korea and Viet Nam, ending his military career as a Lt. Colonel.
