Harvey William Maher

Harvey W. Maher enlisted into the US Army Air Forces on September 21, 1942.
Following his training, he commissioned on January 7, 1944.
Maher was sent overseas to Europe on August 22, 1944, where he flew F-6B aircraft with the 161st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron.
During his overseas service, he flew 75 missions over Europe and accrued a total of 250 combat hours.
He returned to the United States and served in the Aerospace Defense Command at Truax Field, Wisconsin.
He went on to command the 176th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron there and served as the Assistant Adjutant General for Headquarters, Wisconsin Air National Guard.
Maher retired as a Colonel in April, 1978.
