Harry Lee Peeler
MilitaryAssigned to 325BS, 92BG, 8AF USAAF. Inducted into the Army Air Force in 1943. He served as an aircrew member gunner and radio operator on a B-17 combat plane. His aircraft was shot down in Leigh, Belgium where one crew member was killed. While in the service, he flew over 30 missions and received six medals.
Awards: AM, EAME, WWII Victory.
Post war: Dr. Peeler practiced medicine in Selmer for 54 years. He graduated with honours from Vanderbilt University in 1949 and received his Medical Degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1958.
