CivilianI trained as an air craft mechanic at Shepard field, Texas. Then Lockheed Aircraft on P-38s. Was mechanic crew at air base in Oakland before shipping overseas on Queen Mary Nov '42. Upon arrival in U. K. they found there were too many mechanics and not enough office personne and since I could type, I became a clerk!
