Harley R. Stroven 1st LT, Armaments Officer, USAAF, 8th Air Force, 486th Bomb Group, 835th Bomb Squadron, Sudbury, England, Station 174. Harley filmed an 8 mm color movie 52 minutes long, to which he added narration 38 years later, showing what life was like for him in the 8th Air Force, 486th BG during World War II. He filmed the Sudbury air base, the local farms and communities, wartime London, his men loading bombs, a mission to Brest, France, a trip to Paris shortly after the German surrender, flying home across the Atlantic and other topics. His narration and 8 mm film created a permanent record of his time in service and a lasting legacy. The film is posted on You Tube. For more information see Harley Stroven's webpage at
