Shot down 27 May 1944 in B-17 #42-107023, Evaded (EVD). Plane crash landed at Champfleure. Lt. Blythe was only crewmember killed. The 8 survivors assembled away from the wreck and assumed Blythe had run into the woods. He did get out. He probably pitched out on impact and the left wing pinned him to the ground.
