" Buried in Poix France, he was then reinterred at the U.S. Military Cemetery at Normandy in June 1949. My uncle and namesake was the youngest of six children. He was the first in our family to graduate from college (Ohio University), then worked briefly at the Associated Press in Chicago before joining the USAAF in 1942. His three older brothers, including my father, served in the Army in the Pacific during the war. George's Normandy gravesite has been visited by his sister and two nieces and nephew whom he never met. - George S. Edwards "
