George McHugh
Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down at Eidelstedt in B-17 42-31648 'Ensign Mary' on 6/16/44. After giving the crew orders to bail out, Lt. McHugh stayed with the plane and managed to prevent it from crashing into the French village of Pontpoint. A memorial was erected in the village and a street named in his honor. Killed in Action.
