Frederick N Kemp served as a bombardier with the 550th Bomb Squadron of the 385th Bomb Group out of Great Ashfield, England. On 11 December 1943, he was flying in B-17 42-30168 Slo Jo when it was shot down. Kemp was taken as a Prisoner of War (POW) and held as a prisoner at Stalag Luft I.
His family recently donated all of his wartime and POW correspondence, target photos, and papers to the World War II Museum in New Orleans, their hometown.
