Evaded (EVD) Hit by flak and crashed near laninges on 7/16/44 in B-17 #42107153 'Denny Boy'. He and his crew crossed the Swiss border on18 July 1944 and were sent to a receiving station. Then sent to an Internment Hotel Bad und Kurhaus Lustorf. ON 24 August 1944, Sergeant. John Griffiths (engineer) and I decided to leave Switzerland. They crossed into France near the village of Le Pellany with the assistance of many French people. They proceded south and met the American troops at San Julian. From there they wre sent back to England and then on to the US.







He served in other duties in Air Force in the US. In 1946 he was assigned to the Occupation Forces in Germany. He participated in the Berlin Air Lift. In 1948 he was reassigned to the US where he performed many duties in the AF. In 1951 he was again assigned to duty in Germany. In 1955 was reassigned to the US and served until Spet 1961 when he retired from the AF as a Major.
