On 07 December 1942 Frank enlisted in the service from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as a private in the Air Corps (Service Number 16 153 264). He had three years of college education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Undefined Code".

We have him listed as participating in the Resupply and air evacuation Mission #49 in August of 1944.

He is also listed on GO #48, dated 23 April 1945 awarding him and other members of the 437th their second Oak Leaf Cluster for the previously awarded Air Medal. This was for "…meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flights within the period 01 October 1944 through 31 December 1944."
