Frank was born in New York on 02 October 1909. We can find no mention of Frank in any of the US or New York Census records.

He entered the service on 19 March 1942 from Fort Dix, New Jersey. He enlisted as a Private; he had two years of high school education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Plumbers, gas fitters, and steam fitters".

According to Frank Guild's book: 'Journey to the Far Shore', Frank was a member of the 84th TCS in 1945.
