Meaders flew out of Raydon AF, Suffolk, England. On December 10, 1944 Meaders was involved in a crash which resulted in a broken arm and cracked spine. Joined the 351st Fighter Squadron on October 28, 1944 along with fellow pilots, Lts. Thomas Drybrough and Harold W. Chase. On December 10, 1944 Meadors was involved in a crash in P-51B 42-106869 that broke his arm and cracked his spine. He would not fly again with the squadron before war's end. Meadors would remain in the air force and retire a Colonel.
