Framingham, MA 30 July 2012 Ernest A. Midura FRAMINGHAM - Ernest A. Midura, age 87, of Framingham, died peacefully, Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home in Framingham surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 62 years in September to Mary (Juzaszek) Midura of Framingham. Born in Chicopee, he was the son of the late Stanley and Bertha (Pietras) Midura. Stationed at "Grafton Underwood" in England with the "Mighty Eighth Air Force" the 384 Bombardment Group, 545 Squadron during WWII. He was a combat radio operator on a Bomber "B-17 Flying Fortess" and survived 35 combat missions in the Air Battles over Germany. A graduate of RCA Institute in New York City, he joined the Westinghouse Broadcasting Engineering Division. A pioneer in television broadcasting, he was a Technical Director for the Sports Network and WBZ-TV in Boston. He retired after 41 years in 1989. An avid reader, woodsman and hiker, he enjoyed the mountains in the Berkshires and the beaches of Aruba. Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his son and three daughters. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 9 AM from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, followed by his funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Rte 9 @ Framingham Centre. Burial will be private at a later date.
