After take off for mission to ST Pol, FR on 31 Jan 1944, B-24D 42-63970 'Heavenly Daze' experienced mechanical problems and the crew baled out over England and the aircraft was shot down over the North Sea. RTD.
Shot down by flak and crashed near Berlin-Spandau on 6 Mar 1944 in B-24J 42-109832 'De-Icer'. Killed in Action (KIA).
