A Nissen hut of the 100th Bomb Group. John A Miller, a veteran waist gunner of the 100th Bomb Group has handwritten on reverse: 'July 1944, 349th BS- 100th BG. "Hero's Haven" Hut # 21. Do not remember the names of these men, this hut was home for the Sgts' from 2 crws, 12 men. I watched about 5 crews come + go. (Shot down or crashed). John A Miller.' Another veteran has written on reverse: 'Man in foreground is: Emory C Rose (BT).'
