Military ROLL OF HONOURKIS Was part of crew of plane being ferried to BAD #`1 at Burtonwood where pilot was to pick up newer plane to take back to base. ran into bad weather, field was blanketed by fog and plane hit Black Hameldon Hill. All men on board were killed.
NOTE: Not all men on board were killed. 1st Lt. Charles A. Goeking the pilot, T. Sgt. Leslie E. Johnson The Radio Operator, Sgt. Robert E. Hyett a passenger all suffered major injuries but survived the crash.
